Guidance to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework states that:
"Practitioners must be able to observe and respond appropriately to children".
This principle requires practitioners to observe children and respond appropriately to help them make progress. This is demonstrated when practitioners;
We will make regular observations on your child, using different mediums, for example; tracker books, photographs, written observations or photographic recordings. You are welcome to see copies of any of our observations on your child. We have obtained a license from the Information Commissioner's Office and been entered onto the register in line with GDPR 2018, this allows us to store such materials for record purposes. Details of our entry onto the register are available for viewing in our welcome pack. All observations are only made for personal use and will remain confidential., however certain bodies such as Ofsted, Child Protection, Social Services etc will be granted access in certain circumstances.
We request each parent/carer to sign a form giving us permission to carry out and record observations on their child.
