Healthy Eating

We are happy to provide all children in our care with healthy meals, snacks and drinks, or to cook or serve food provided by their parent(s)/carers. All food preparation is carried to the highest standard of hygiene, and our certificate of food hygiene issued by the Food Standards Agency and Cambridge City Council is clearly displayed within the setting. We encourage children to choose healthy options and to experiment by trying new foods from other cultures. We are happy to discuss menus with parent(s)/carers and to cater for children with different allergies and cultural/regligous requirements. If your child has any dislikes or has a favourite dish please let us know.

If you have any concerns regarding diet/menu/quantity please do not hesitate to discuss these with us.

We do not permit children to have fizzy drinks, unless specifically requested to do so by parent(s)/carers in writing. Children are offered water, milk, or fresh fruit juices.

We don’t allow children to eat sweets, cakes or crisps. If however there is a special occasion such as a birthday, you are welcome to bring in party bags, birthday cake etc. These will be passed on to the other children's parent(s)/carers at the end of the day.
