Health & Safety Risk Assessments

The health and Safety of your child(ren) is paramount to us, therefore we at TinyTots undertake to ensure that;

• All toys will be checked and cleaned regularly to ensure they are safe for your child(ren)’s use and this is recorded on our daily risk assessment sign off sheet and cleaning rota. Any broken toys will be removed immediately. Children will only be offered resources that are suitable for their age and stage of development.

• We check our home every morning before the children arrive to make sure it is a safe environment for minded children, this is also recorded on our daily risk assessment sign off sheet.

• Children are only allowed in the kitchen under supervision.

• We use safety equipment appropriate for the children in our care e.g. stair gates, cupboard locks etc these are checked on a daily basis.

• We will keep the front door secured with a high level bolt to prevent children opening it.

• We have a procedure in place in case of a fire or emergency, (Please see our Emergency Evacuation policy).

• We follow strict hygiene guidelines to prevent cross contamination, (Please see our Hygiene policy).

• When away from home younger children will be strapped into a pushchair or age stage appropriate car seat (when travelling in the car), older children will either be on a wrist strap or be on a harness or holding on to one of our hands or a pushchair.
• Sleeping children will be checked on regularly and we use wirless baby monitors and have remote camera access above the travel cots.
