I have lived in Cambridge with my husband Colin for over nine years and we have been working together as a childcare partnership since 2009. I worked for the organisation Mencap for 15 years with children and young adults with additional needs and severe disibilities, making a difference to their lives.
Eleven years ago whilst working in primary school I became a Learning Mentor helping children overcome barriers to learning e.g. bereavement, bullying and low self esteem. This was a role I really enjoyed, and I still use the skills I learned in that role in my work as an Ofsted registered, network accredited, quality assured childminder today.
I have lived in Cambridge with my wife Allyson for over nine years and we have been working together as a childcare partnership since 2009.
I used to be a childminder in my own right, but I now work with Allyson as an assistant.
I really enjoy supporting children to explore new experiences, achieve new skills, reach their own personal milestones and I can honestly say I love my job and wouldn’t want to do anything else.
I started as an assistant at Tinytots in 2014, I really love supporting and encouraging the children to enjoy and achieve whilst learning through play.
I am the first one to get my hands dirty with messy play e.g. painting, collage, sand and water, building with the construction toys and I love imaginative play and dressing up.
But most of all I love to see the smiles on the children’s faces just priceless.
